This bill would create a government-run news agency
This bill would create a new federal agency - the Center for Information Analysis and Response.
The new agency would analyze propaganda from countries such as Russia and China and develop "fact-based narratives that support United States allies and interests."
The agency would be able to provide $20 million over two years to support private media organizations. These organizations would be vetted to ensure, among other things, "their compatibility with United States interests and objectives."
Agency is temporary
The agency would terminate after 10 years.
