Obamacare Replacement
The Graham-Cassidy bill - the latest attempt to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) - would cause millions of the most vulnerable Americans - the least healthy, oldest, and poorest - to lose access to health care.
It has the potential to return to the pre-Obamacare days - when just getting sick or having an accident could wipe out someone's life savings (or their life).
It could bring back lengthy insurance forms - costing Americans countless hours and expense for health assessments.
Even if a state wanted to keep Obamacare protections, it likely would not be able to because the amount of its block grants would not allow insurance companies to offer affordable premiums while maintaining their profits.
This bill is being considered in a very unethical way - with no serious hearings and no complete Congressional Budget Office analysis.
As your constituent, I am urging you to represent my interests (as well as those of the overwhelming majority Americans) by taking whatever action is appropriate to not allow the American Health Care Act - the Graham-Cassidy version or whatever form it ultimately takes - to replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).
I also am urging you to look at ways to either improve Obamacare or replace it with a policy (such as single-payer) that would ensure that quality health care is available to every American.
