Banner with Trump hung at Dept. of Labor
2025-Aug-30By: Barry Shatzman

A banner with a portrait of Donald Trump has been hung in front of the Department of Labor (DOL) headquarters near the U.S .Capitol building.

The banner hangs alongside a portrait of President Theodore Roosevelt. Both banners contain the saying "American Workers First".

Illegal use of taxpayer money

The banners cost $6,000 according to a Labor Department spokesperson.

Spending bills require public money spent on advertising by federal agencies be used to provide information about the agency's work. They explicitly prohibit propaganda.

Propaganda typically has been defined as "self-aggrandizement, purely partisan materials, or covert propaganda, a report by Sen. Adam Schiff states.

The banner was mentioned by Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer during an August cabinet meeting.

"Mr. President, I invite you to see your big, beautiful face on a banner in front of the Department of Labor, because you are really the transformational president of the American worker," she told Trump.

Bill would make Trump's birthday a national holiday
2025-Feb-14  (Updated: 2025-Jun-20)By: Barry Shatzman

Rep. Claudia Tenney has introduced a bill to make Donald Trump's birthday a national holiday.

The "Trump's Birthday and Flag Day Holiday Establishment Act" would add the June 14 date to the list of national holidays.

"Just as George Washington's birthday is codified as a federal holiday, President Trump's birthday should also be celebrated to recognize him as the founder of America's Golden Age," Tenney posted on the social media site X.

While the bill has virtually no chance of being passed by Congress, it is not known if President Trump would sign the bill, as he recently stated that the country already has too many national holidays.
